I spent fifteen years in pastoral ministry before I became a software engineer. Not a sideline — a full vocation. Hospital chaplaincy, crisis response, grief support, funerals. Then I transitioned to engineering — and spent fifteen more years in production systems, API design, and full-stack development. Both careers are still active. The second one enables the first at scale.
